Rebecca Reid is a soprano based in Belfast, specialising in oratorio and recital. She is available for concert and choral engagements across Northern Ireland and Ireland.

Her voice has been shaped by more than twenty years of serious private study. Since 2014 she has studied with Michelle Wegwart, whose career spans the Opéra Bastille, the Bolshoi Theatre, Zurich Opera, and the Salzburg Festival.

In 2026 she joins Northern Ireland Opera's Chorus Development Programme, appearing in Bizet's Carmen at the Grand Opera House, Belfast, directed by Artistic Director Cameron Menzies. Her oratorio work includes Handel's Messiah, Mozart's Requiem, Brahms' Ein deutsches Requiem, Fauré's Requiem, and Howard Goodall's Eternal Light: A Requiem with ensembles including Fermanagh Choral Society, Leeds University Choir, and Newark Choral Society.

 

On the operatic stage she has performed with York Opera in Die Zauberflöte and Tales of Kings and Queens, and understudied the role of Josephine in H.M.S. Pinafore.

She holds a Graduate Diploma in Music from the University of Leeds and a Master of Arts in Music Education from the University of York, and is a Vocal Habilitation Professional and singing teacher.
